NEXT WEEK IN THE COURTS – WITNESSES TO TESTIFY AGAINST DREW NOYES – BRIAN GOUDIE

BUT KOPALODEATHIS! DREW AND WANRAPA GO GREEK

The controversial American, Drew Walter Noyes, former publisher of the Pattaya Times newspaper, is due to surrender to bail on Monday on charges now being returned against him by Andrew Drummond, owner of this site.

His common-law wife Wanrapa Boosu has already submitted bail but Noyes, 58, was not well enough to  attend the last hearing at Bangkok Criminal Court. Both face libel charges and Computer Crime Act charges. A date will be fixed for trial.

In two other cases Drummond and witnesses will also give evidence against Drew Noyes and Brian Goudie over other alleged libels in both the Pattaya Times and Goudie’s blogspot site.

Between them they are alleged to have made a number of libelous allegations, which included that Drummond’s Press card had been withdrawn, that he was being investigated by officers of the Department of Special Investigation, Crime Suppression Division and Immigration Police for various unspecified crimes, and that he was not the recipient of an award for investigations into fascism and racism.

In Koh Samui Provincial Court yesterday #DavidHanks faced his third day of cross examination in a case he has brought against Andrew Drummond relating to a story in the SUN newspaper in Scotland headlined: ‘OAP from Girvan Was a Mafia Enforcer’.

Hanks, the former licensee of Masquerades, a brothel in Keysborough, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, who is currently on bail in relation to money lending in Pattaya, says he now runs a furniture restoring business in Thailand.

Drummond has defeated some 13 libel cases and computer crime cases brought by #DrewNoyes, #BrianGoudie, and #WanrapaBoonsu. He is appealing one case.

Noyes, was exposed in the Morning Star newspaper in Wilmington, North Carolina  a story heading ‘Trouble Follows Developer’ coming to Thailand, he claims, to help the country recover from the Asian economic crisis in the late 90s.

Romantic……?

Brian Goudie, under the name Goldie, was jailed in Australia for six years for stealing from his employers, a West Australian mining company.  He served just over 2 years as prisoner E0000274 in Hakea Prison, WA.  He arrived in Thailand pretending to be a barrister and former Royal Marines Captain.

The Deputy President of the Australian Appeals Tribunal ruled that he was ‘not a person of good character’ after taking into account that he declined to return to Scotland to answer an arrest warrant on an allegation of fraud against the Royal Bank of Scotland.

He is due to appear in Pattaya Provincial Court on July 3rd where he has undertaken to pay back some 7.9 million baht by handing over the premises of the ‘Jaggie Thistle’ pub to Mrs. Barbara Fanelli Miller, of Madison, Wisconsin.

This figure constituted the sum he charged her while claiming to be a British barrister.

Goudie is currently the subject of a programme Episode 6 in a television series being sold worldwide called ‘Serial Swindlers’.

Drew Noyes and Wanrapa Boonsu are due to open a ‘romantic’ club soon called the ‘Athena Gentle’s Man Club’ in Jomtien on Thailand’s eastern seaboard along with a ‘hotel’ with separate entrance otherwise it might be categorised as something else. A lot of money has gone into this place which demonstrates Drew’s interest in Thai-Greek culture- and it seems some people are demanding their cash back even before the launch which has been delayed several times due to licensing issues. Judging by the name you won’t find a gentleman there though.

  1. I really wish I could attend, these trials will be comedy gold, especially if Thai government officials are called in from the PRD, CSD and DSI to testify. After all, it's not like Mr. Tarit has a busy schedule right now so I'm sure he'd be happy to testify to clear up the truth of the matter of the DSI's involvement.

Who knows, maybe that will be the point those agencies will become interested in the Three Stooges and the crimes they've been accused/convicted of committing and start taking a more proactive stance in preventing more of their mischief. Stranger things have been known to happen.

To this day I wonder why Goudie hasn't been locked up by Immigration for entering the country after being convicted of a serious crime in Australia and spending a couple of years in prison. I'm guessing that spending time in an Immi lockup might inspire him to refund the money he's been convicted of defrauding people out of and soon I'm guessing to be even more money for charges of defamation he's made against people.

    1. Drew does live in a village where the head of the Foreign Police Volunteers is a former criminal himself, so I'm doubting Pattaya is short of idiots.

  2. Athena certainly looks like a man, but I don't think there is anything gentle about that old battleaxe.

As a "gentle's man" would usually indicate a man belonging to a gentle, one might be forgiven for wondering if it is a guy club of the sort that the Mac Mafia might well enjoy visiting. (And Brian is usually perceived as a gentle man.) Drew and Wansu might be well-advised to drop the romantic bit – as Athena has always been firmly rooted in Greece.

  3. TACKY. Gentle's man ? For someone who claims to be a lawyer, he really does seem perplexed by the English language. Maybe this is a new legal term? And delayed opening because of licencing issues. Is this not the 'go to' man for starting up businesses in Pattaya? Why would anybody use him when he can not even get his own business organised? Like the legal firm that can not even win it's own cases. Totally incompetent.

Is this the site of Hanks', er, furniture business? Will Asian hotties be servicing, I mean, serving tourists drinks?
It has been said that this place has been fitted with a myriad of hidden cameras. Previously in Soi2 about 16 years ago a credible American bar owner/pimp was filming sex acts and streaming them onto the internet to sell to wankers in foreign countries. Filming patrons could also provide an avenue for extortion and blackmail.
Since being exposed by Andrew Drummond the Pattaya Times newspaper has been closed down after advertising dried up, another Bangok Pattaya newspaper flopped before the first edition, an attempt to entice investors to sell Lumpini condos as some sort of high end resort failed, Cupids Gentles man club in Pattaya crashed, the PAPPA Law office is no more and the gay mag has been closed down. Considering the previous form of Drew, Hanks and Stevo, let us pray that this business will be added to the myriad of business ventures that have failed. I will personally be informing the new police chief here of it's presence.

    1. A Man Club. a magazine for homosexuals, giving flowers to men, Official Blowjobs, Cupids in Boyztown. If he didn't have such a terrible dress sense, one might suspect that the photos of Drew in his pouch were indeed not photoshopped.

  4. People are forgetting that we are dealing with a sociopath. The following is from the Sociopath World website.
Sociopathy is a personality disorder. We are unusually impressionable, very flexible with our sense of self, and with our defining characteristics. Because we don't have a rigid self-image or worldview, we don't observe social norms, we don't have a moral compass, and we have a fluid definition of right and wrong. We can also be shapeshifters, smooth-talking, and charming. We do not have an established default position on anything. This extends, at least in some degree, to our sexuality.

The original diagnostic and statistical manual (DSM), released in 1952, listed homosexuality as a sociopathic personality disturbance. The connection between the two was subsequently removed due to protests from the gay community that homosexuality was being equated with sociopathy. Many have commented since that sociopaths seem to have no particular sexual identity, that even the term bisexual is misleading as it implies some sort of a preference, albeit a shared one, and that "equal opportunity" is a more apt label. In fact, the sociopath seems to be the bonobo of the human world — frequent, casual, utilitarian sex. As one person reasoned, "such an individual, in their quest for dominance and power would not feel the need to discriminate according to gender."

I was thinking about all of this while reading an article on Sir Laurence Olivier's sexual predilections. Although married three times, he apparently also had many male interests, one of whom explained it as follows:
"He's like a blank page and he'll be whatever you want him to be. He'll wait for you to give him a cue, and then he'll try to be that sort of person."
Maybe larry wasn't a sociopath, maybe he was, but he shared with sociopaths the common characteristic of a weak sense of self, and he illustrates well how that might play out with one's sexual identity. In any case, the lesson learned here is not only does being a sociopath potentially make you a great thespian, it also gives new meaning to the old consolation, "there are plenty more fish in the sea.

  5. Here's a great testament to Thai society:

Drew Noyes has been on trial for it seems like over a year on several serious charges, none of which are resolved. Noyes has claimed Royal patronage. lied about his background, faked his credentials with the intent to defraud and apparently has swindled enough money out of people to the extent he can open up a bar in Pattaya.

I personally find it shocking at this point that the Thai police haven't yet been inspired to enforce Thai law and charge these individuals directly, rather than foreigners taking private suits that innocence can be paid for.

Maybe the junta's new inspiration towards justice will spill over into the foreign criminal department.

  6. I wonder if Somchai will show up, or will he have an excuse.

Perhaps he'll get one of his Thailand Friends to show up on his behalf (In Thailand Friends are FOREVER).

Though I note Thailand Facebook Friends have been leaving like rats from a sinking ship.

But for now, the Ex-Con Dane is sticking by Somchai's friend – surely though, there must come a time when even he starts to regard association with Somchai as a liability.

Methinks right around the time the jail doors slam behind our favourite American grifter.

  7. The flyer does not say "Genleman's Club": it says "Gentle's Man Club'" Therefore a Man Club called Gentle's. Anyway, it's all Greek to me…

  8. I am confused why the wife is standing by him. She knows, as everybody does, of his Buffalo girl. I would think that if the extortion allegations are true it was his plot, not hers. Why take the fall for him?
